The Government and Education Division represents the cornerstone of FOUNDATION TELECOMMUNICATIONS,INC. FTI has been recognized as an industry expert and our staff is well respected within the distance learning and government arenas. FTI's one-stop shopping approach also offers clients a single point of contact. In addition, FTI can provide assistance to its non-profit clients in securing underwriting and grant support. Financing and leasing options are readily available for those who qualify. This division represents a unique combination of distance learning for K-12 and higher education, state and regional telecommunications networks, and federal government entities.  
 

Distance Learning - K-12 and Higher Education
The FTI client list boasts some of the best known education networks, including American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), Hispanic Educational Telecommunications Systems (HETS), and the South Dakota Rural Development Telecommunications Network (RDTN). Currently, the FTI primary transponder is home to over a dozen private distance learning networks and is accessed by nearly 40 uplink facilities throughout the country. FTI's background in the conversion of existing analog networks to digital, provides customers with the expertise to bring state-of-the-art technology to their current infrastructure.
 

State and Regional Telecommunications Networks
Many state telecommunications networks parallel those of the business television community. The experience FTI has with BTV is easily transferable to this industry. FTI will work with state organizations to build a network which will meet their voice, data and video needs, thus eliminating many travel costs and improving communications especially in remote areas not served by  terrestrial communications links.
